So, it seems that I've been away for a while.
Couple of points to mention, first of all work is going great and the best of my work in the last year will soon be visible to see in my latest showreel which I am currently piecing together!
Secondly, I've finally found some time in my busy schedule to start on a new character and get to grips with Zbrush a little better along the way. I plan to get this character fully fleshed out and set up as a next-gen game asset, hopefully set up in UDK with a full animation set and all the trimmings!
Here's the concept that I drew up and as i get further along with this little project I'll be posting my progress!

Limbs, my animated short film from last year is going to be showing at the Showroom Cinema in Sheffield on the 19th of February.

Okay so I've been away from here for a little while so, I guess I'm gonna explain where things went after University.
I completed all my final work for my final year and had it all handed it in. If you haven't seen my final film Limbs then go treat your eyeballs to it now. Anyway, I graduated with a First Class Honours in Animation and came out with an Integrated Masters Degree. Sounds fancy when ya say it that like that don't it? Hooray for me, bow before me yaddah yaddah yaddah.
What I actually came here to say was that I was very lucky to come out of University and find work in only a couple of months. I'm now working as a Junior Artist over at Fuzzy Frog Games where I get to animate all day and people pay me real cash for it! I've uprooted and moved to Nottingham and things are going swimmingly.
Since I got there in the summer we have been working on a really interesting project which takes mini-games and augmented reality and uses them to gradually expose people with arachnophobia to spiders that increase In realism as the player makes progress through the game. You can check out the project at http://www.virtually-free.com/ . Working with practicing psychiatrists on this project has been fascinating and a really interesting experience.
We recently just released our kickstarter campaign and would really appreciate it if you could spare a minute to stop and have a look at it, soak it all in and if you like the idea throw a teensy bit of cash our way.

Tickles: Modelled, Textured and Rigged
Hey there gang! So I'm enjoying starting to work on a new showreel that focuses more on in-game animation which is the route i want to take my career down. I decided this gave me an excuse to model a bad-ass looking low-poly character which i could rig and texture up. I'd rather all the work be mine than just pinch a rig off the net.
Anyway I posted the concept up for this guy a few days ago. I made quite a few changed with proportions and form but the idea is pretty much the same. Hope you like him!

Onto new things
Limbs is finished! I have a new showreel (find it through the links at the top of the page) and life is good.
So I got a bit of a creative itch today. Most of my work is suited towards film but I really want to drive my careers more towards games. Therefore I've started designs on a new character which I am going to create a simple low poly model of, rig it up and create a series of animation that can be exported into a game engine (perhaps even do this part too).
Here's the a final character design I did today, say hello to Tickles:

Limbs: Sound Mixing
The Limbs project is coming to a close and sweet Jesus does it feel good to be at this point.
I have a couple of ambient occlusion pass frames top re-render but most of the editing is about done and I'm now in the process of creating the sound mix for the short. As you can see from the image below I'm using quite a few tracks (possibly too many, but hey don't judge me) and I must say listening to 30 examples of motor and servo samples on repeat is driving me slightly mental.
Keep checking back, It's coming out soon!

... Sorry thought i was Stan Lee there for a while.
Anyway, I finally handed in the Grease Monkey Project yesterday freeing up more time to work on Limbs and also giving me time to create a new résumé and showreel which I will be uploading either tonight or tomorrow. Exciting stuff!
I thought I'd drop by to show you the demonstration for my Grease Monkey rig which was part of the hand-in for the project. Enjoy!
